Stress? What Stress?

I have many new projects I am itching to renew or upcycle.
In June I purchased a very nice wooden wine cabinet at a garage sale in Illinois. Someone had given it a hideous and very sloppy paint job. I sanded it, but then the weather turned unbearably hot.

This evening we had storms ahead of a cold front. I’m hoping the cooler weather will afford me the opportunity to kick refurbishing into high gear.

The first thing I want to finish is the wine rack. I still haven’t finished stripping the multiple layers of latex paint off the antique corner cabinet I purchased in April. I still have frames for 2 baby beds to convert to benches, 3 coffee tables, one sofa table, media cabinet, a dresser that I have painted, but needs a light sanding before I decoupage vintage sheet music onto it.

I have a box of reclaimed wood that needs to be converted to signs. I have tons of inspiration, but I’m short on time.  I realize that this season of Mark’s surgeries and subsequent recovery will merely seem like a feather upon the wind of time… in a decade or two. Right now, it’s consuming. I made a vow that included the words, “In sickness and in health.” I don’t resent nursing Mark. I just miss sleeping, LOL.

New Items Added to My Booth at

My flea market/antique booth has been quite neglected lately.
I’ve been too busy taking care of my husband after his first of 4 surgeries. My “Cozy Cottage” booth at Somewhere in Time
has sold items faster than I have been able to replenish it. I took in some great items today, but desperately need to add some “smalls” to fill in blank spots on my shelves.
This is a rare find! It’s an 8 piece soup tureen service set.
It includes the tureen, ladle, lid, 2 divided serving dishes, and 2 single tray serving dishes, all on a rotating lazy susan. $40
This vintage ironstone covered vegetable dish is by Royal Staffordshire, Wilmington England. $12.50

What a beauty! This doll carriage/stroller is from the Civil War Era. $200

Gearing up for holiday entertaining, on top is a stoneware strawberry pot. In the center is a large, clear casserole with lid. Both are $8 each

This antique kerosene/oil heater lends both art and function.
It is hand painted with a “4 Seasons” theme. $100
Also by Royal Staffordshire, Wilmington England are 2 beautiful wheat pattern serving platters. The 21 inch platter is $20, and the 12 inch platter is only $12.50

This adorable veggie bin with a hand-painted rooster is about half the width of traditional wooden vegetable bins, but twice as adorable! It has 3 compartments, and the bottom 2 are vented with chicken wire. $10.

Make a large batch of hot chocolate on a cool autumn night, and serve in this funky 2 quart pitcher. I have great recipes for home made white and dark hot chocolate. E-Mail me for your copy.

Another very rare find!
This 5 piece coffee service set is in perfect condition. No chips or cracks at all. It is by Red-Cliff, Inc, and is a beautiful white ironstone with a grape leaf motif.

The top level is an antique iron with a coal chamber. It is $15.
The center & lower irons are traditional antique irons for $10 each.

Absolutely GORGEOUS Victorian Era platform rocker. $200

This little beauty is a turn-of-the-century solid wood child’s rocking chair. Beautiful condition for only $150.
Visit booth #24 soon. These items won’t last long!
