I usually try to invent a new cookie recipe every year. This year I came up with two definite keepers. This is the first of them.
1 stick salted butter, softened 3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tsp orange extract 1 cup Craisins
2 eggs 2 cups white chocolate chips
3 Tablespoons Milk 1 cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt & baking soda
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add orange extract and eggs, one at a time. Blend in the milk.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet, and mix just until fully incorporated.
Stir in Craisins, ONE cup of the white chocolate chips, and almonds.
Cover and refrigerate dough for at least one hour.
Drop by 2 ounce scoops onto ungreased baking sheet, and bake 9-11 minutes.
When cookies are cool, melt remaining white chocolate chips and pipe the design of your choice on top of the cookies.
Makes 4 dozen cookies
